Author Profile

Hi, I’m Kimberly Wong.

WHO AM I

A Registered Pharmacist and the Primary Writer behind The Counter Check

I’ve been working as a professional writer since 2020, although my journey started earlier while I was still an undergraduate. Back then, I wrote about a wide range of topics, including real estate, B2B, finance, travel, and other industries. As my career in pharmacy progressed, I found myself wanting to focus on something closer to home – healthcare.

The Counter Check brings together two things I’ve always enjoyed: pharmacy and writing. It’s where I can share what I’ve learned, continue learning alongside medicine, and hopefully help other people better understand their health.

How I Research &
Write!

Every article begins with a question that people are asking.

From there, I review medical literature, clinical guidelines, prescribing information, and other reputable sources to understand what the current evidence says. I compare recommendations, look for areas where evidence is strong or still evolving, and try to present that information in a way that’s easy to follow without leaving out the details that matter.

My goal isn’t simply to summarize information. I want readers to understand what the evidence says, where there are uncertainties, and how that information fits into the bigger picture of their health.

Promote Consciousness to ensure a Cleaner Health

I trained in pharmaceutical manufacturing, where I learned how medications are developed and produced. I also completed internships in both a hospital and a community pharmacy, experiences that allowed me to work with different healthcare professionals and meet people from all walks of life.

Each setting offered a different perspective on patient care, and together they’ve shaped how I approach health education today. They reminded me that every patient has different questions, different concerns, and different experiences, which is something I keep in mind every time I write.
